'Echoes of Albion'
This design was created using a wash on watercolour paper, then pen and ink work filled in with a mixture of gouache and ink. Measuring just 20 x 14 cm, the drawing is extremely detailed.
Totem animals of Fox, Hare and Bird are interwoven with energy patterns designed to create movement, flow and a sense of life energy with overall, a feeling of wonderment and magic - the dance of Life!

Pyrography on a Woodland Theme
Woodlands are my favourite places of all! I love the way everything changes the moment you enter the woods! Sounds of the outer world become muffled..then disappear, to be replaced my birdsong..scratchings and unknown noises. The light changes too, and the smell of the earth and the trees brings comfort and pleasure. Here, I feel most at home, protected, and my imagination stimulated by heightened senses.
I take frequent walks through woodland just behind my house in Derbyshire, and return with inspiration for my pyrography pieces which often feature trees, runes and the creatures of the forest.
Here are some of my recent pieces..

'The Woods' Small watercolour design with verse
This little watercolour painting, measuring approx 12 x 12cm is inspired by the beautiful Derbyshire hills and woodlands where I live and often walk.
The verse needs to be read from the bottom upwards :
'Over green velvet hills, in the sun, let us run..
To the woods and the trees, dancing leaves, may we come..
Amongst birds in the endless blue sky shall we fly..

Combined Watercolour painting and Pyrography Art Pieces
In January 2013 I posted a piece entitled 'Pyrography v traditional drawing - the battle is on!' in which I spoke about my attempts to balance the time spent on these two different creative processes, and of the popularity with my followers of my pyrography work over my traditional drawings.
Well since then I have continued to practice and enjoy creating art using these different mediums and have recently been experimenting with ways of combining pyrography and waterclour painting to create more unusual and unique pieces.
Here are some examples of my recent combined creations..

'Greymoss- the Whisperer' Watercolour
Here is a very special little Tree Spirit from my world..
He is a shamanic Tree Spirit who performs very special duties. Greymoss travels, usually by night, into those areas which have become tree-less, and therefore lacking the blessings bestowed by trees upon those who live in proximity. He travels to the grey places, the concrete worlds..the thousands of acres of paved over gardens..and as he travels, ringing his sacred Acorn bell, he blesses the land with Whispers of trees..
He is not seen, and seldom heard, yet every place he visits is blessed with potential for new growth..

'Well-come Wood' Watercolour
Just a tiny painting, inspired by recent walks in my local Derbyshire woods. I always feel very at home in woodland, surrounded by trees, and also in touch with magic..this painting, and the title, is intended to suggest something of that feeling..
'Blossom time' Watercolour
This blossom tree painting is of course inspired by our beautiful English Springtime, which always brings out in me a lot of joy, inspiration and a little bit of the poet! So I have accompanied the picture with a few words around the edge, which read: '
Behold my Grace; Each petal cast to the wind..my blessing and my prayer..'

'Whispers of Leaves'
Here's a little watercolour painting with lots of my favourite things - Tree, Runes, Sun and Moon..and a little verse which reads thus - 'Tree blassings and whispers of leaves, spirit of green, kiss of the breeze...'
